We’re firm believers in the saying ‘readers are leaders’, therefore we made the decision to participate in World Book Day which focused around the world of books.
Different activities were held throughout the day to instil the appreciation of books and the love of reading within the children.
A competition to find the ‘Favourite Book of Hamd House’ was held for which children were asked to write a story. A winner was picked from each class with the children’s vote and awarded a prize.
The theme was continued throughout the day by studying famous authors in literacy, for example Roald Dahl. A play was performed based upon the classic Roald Dahl tale of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, but with our very own creative twist and Islamic touch with morals and lessons. It was thoroughly enjoyed by the children and teachers alike.
